syafiqueshuib.com is ONE!
***syafiqueshuib.com’s not-so-new direction***
Before my readers get angry for changing the layout and the name of the blog from just Syaf back to syafiqueshuib.com, I have a valid reason for doing so.
As you may or may not know, earlier this year I was invited to be a Contributing Author at Global Voices Online (GV). Unfortunately, as I was busy looking for a new job and settling at my present job, I did not have the inspiration and time to blog for GV. However, as a writer, I am always seeking a platform to showcase my writings. I realize GV is a global platform and it’s a great medium for me to write for. I emailed my Filipino editor (it really is a global office) and submitted my first ever entry. My debut entry is now online. I hope to be able to post more in the coming days.
I will still be posting on this blog as usual. Personal development will still be the core theme but instead of writing about my own experiences, what say I write fictitious stories, with fictional characters, but motivation/inspiration as the core theme of the stories? How about that for a change? Why am I doing this? I want to my characters in a situation where ALL of us can relate to. Besides, I love to shares stories and it is about time I share stories other than my own!
Why so many changes? Well, I want to go into fiction writing. I already have a platform to write on lifestyle issues (the magazine) and social issues (GV), I might as well dive into the fictional realm. It is also about quality. I can’t be writing random one-paragraph stuff here anymore just to increase my Unique Visitors (ssshh! that’s my trick. Postings on Charice has increased my unique visitors). Well, at least, that is not the vision i see for this website/blog!
One year already! Keep on reading! Thanks, folks!

Hi Syaf! Actually, I have mixed feelings about you’re intention to write fictional characters from now on. I’ve enjoyed your blog because I can get a sense of how someone from a different country. somebody real, lives & sees life’s situations from their perspective. However, it is a great idea to develop yourself…so I guess I’ll just have to wait & read your first story…good luck!

SYAF: You are probably right. It is better for me to maintain as it is so that people outside of Malaysia will have a better understanding of this country. =)
Hi Syafique, Thanks for joining Global Voices and love your debut post in GV. Malaysia is so close and far away; close in the sense of geography, and far in the sense of understanding. Hope to read more posts from you in GV and know this country more.
